Any Occupational or physical therapy aides out there? How did you get your jobs? How old do you have to be and what is a typical day like? What do you do and do you like your jobs? Being an aide, do it make you want to go all the way and become either a physical therapist or occupational therapist? I need some advice because I am thinking about getting a job as an occupational therapy aide or physical therapy aide.
Do I need previous work experience to go to school for Physical Therapy? I was recently reading a about a college that offers the DPT (Doctorate of Physical Therapy) degree program and among the criteria for acceptance was "work experience". Does that imply that I need to have physical therapy job experience under my belt to even apply for the program? Other than being a stay-at-home mom of almost 6 years, I only have military and some college experience besides some lower income jobs held during high school.
Where can I find a Physical Therapy Aide job? Im 19 in college for Physical Therapy Assistant and I wanted to work somewhere within the field to get a feel of the career and maybe gain some experience. Im just lost as to where I can start looking. Where can I find a job relating to that? Im still doing Pre Reqs if that matters...
Do Physical Therapy Assistants out there enjoy their jobs? I am considering enrolling in a PTA program, as is my husband. We have been working in other careers and want a change. We're in our late 30's and want to be able to work as traveling PTAs to save money for a few years. Any advice or comments?? Thanks!!
Physical Therapy Job? I am a senior in high school, and I'm graduating in May. I plan on studying to become a physical therapist. I'll take my prereqs and major in biology during undergrad, then I'll hopefully get into the doctorate program. My question is, would it be beneficial for me to try to get a job at a physical therapy clinic this summer? Do they even have jobs there for undergraduate students like me? I also know that I need to gain observation hours, so should I start doing that too? Any advice from an actual pt would be great!

Can I get a job as a physical therapy assistant with a bachelor's of health science degree? Instead of heading straight to graduate school next year to get my DPT, I am considering taking some time off and getting a job so I can actually pay for graduate school. I will be receiving a Bachelor's of Health Science in the spring and my major was Exercise Science: Pre-Physical Therapy Concentration. Apart from getting my license to be a PT Assistant, is my degree enough to get me a job as a PT Assistant?
How do I begin looking or a job as a Physical Therapy Aide? Im currently in school to become a Physical Therapy Assistant and I wanted to work as a PT Aide for the experience. I just started a job in retail makin 6.45 plus commission and I want to quit and do something that will at least help me in my future career. How do I go about searching for a PT Aide job and do they pay at least minimum wage?
Is it possible for me to get a per diem physical therapy assistant job? I am employed full-time and have a BS Biology with a good GPA from a top college and have clerical, technical writing, and customer service experience. The problem is I have had too many jobs and no clear direction. If I get a 4.0 in the A.S. program, will I even get calls for interviews? I know there is great demand in this field. I thought of writing a career-change resume that would highlight my hospital volunteering experience, my experience dealing with at-risk students, and my scientific writing skills, as well as my health-related background. Do you think this strategy will work? I had a problem with tardiness before, too, but not recently.

Or will i need to go back to college for a few years or only complete a few more classes to become a physical therapy assistant? What class are most desired? Recommendations for online schools?? Thank you!

I was wondering if there is such a thing like this or do you have to do a bachelors in biology or something like that to be a physical therapist. Different types of jobs dealing with therapy? I'm a junior in high school, and I'm currently researching jobs I'm semi-interested in. Right now, I'm looking at all the different types of therapy, I would like to deal with people with mental and emotional problems as opposed to physical problems, (massage therapy, physical therapy, etc). And I want to kind of avoid the traditional therapist, I was thinking something along the lines of like an art therapist, or someone who deals with criminals, but I'm not sure what the ladder is called. If anyone knows, or knows of any different facets of therapy it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Is traveling Physical Therapy a good job? Do they put you in dangerous places, and is it recommended for new PT graduates or just when you have experience? I don't care about the pay or anything, I just want to know if it's a "safe" thing to get into because I would really enjoy being able to travel while working. Thanks!

Physical Therapy Aide... a few questions about the job? I'm an exercise physiology student from the University of Massachusetts - Lowell. I'm very interested in pursuing a career as a doctor in physical therapy in the future. I figured that I would start learning more about the field through a physical therapy aide job. As a physical therapist, how would you like a student present himself or herself asking for a job? Do you like it when he or she asks straight out if there is a PT aide job, or would you like a full introduction of themselves? Would you recommend a resume? This is my first PT aide job. I did have some medical experience (volunteer job) at a cancer center. Give me as much information about this!!
What are all the types of physical therapy? I know there is a lot of different types like occupational but what are the rest and what are there job descriptions? I went to physical therapy and I went into my hospital in the health and fitness center and I want to do something like that but what type is that? I am also thinking about minoring in Athletic Training. Is that something that is possible?
Do you think that surgery would be more of a solution , compared to having physical therapy? The reason why I ask is because I may need to have surgery on my right knee and they want me to go through therapy for 6 weeks before they decide weather or not to go through the operation. Personally my job requires lots of physical work, so I'm constantly on my feet and moving about the building, I don't feel that physical therapy is going to help me any, I'm just trying to avoid unessary cost! What do you think?

Life of a Physical Therapy Assistant? I might soon be going to college to study being a Physiotherapy Assistant. I wanted to know, from other Physical Therapy Assistants, what the job is like, the wage, the kind of work that is done, and the overall feeling towards the job. I am trying to make a decision, and just curious about others' experiences in the field. Thank you!

Best/Most Budget Friendly way for graduate to get a job in Physical Therapy overseas? I just graduated with a bachelor's in Exercise Science and really want to go abroad and be a Physical Therapy Aide(I interned as one this summer). There are so many programs you can do/pay for to get a placement in another country, etc but it always ends up being pretty pricey after everything is worked out. Does anyone know a budget friendly way to get a job such as a PT Aide in either Australia/New Zealand or in Europe(somewhere I can speak english) and also have a reasonable living situation without having to go through a lot of programs and such. I know a working Visa is required and yes research is necessary but I was not sure if there is something out there that I can utilize.

Job Market for Physical Therapy? Is anyone able to explain to me whether or not there is a job market out there for Physical Therapy and if so how is the job market for New York City? My second question is that there are only 2 schools in NY City in CUNY which provide this major but both are only 2 year colleges. There are no 4 year colleges provided by CUNY which is horrible. So then how is a person able to complete 4 years of college in this major? I am guessing then I would have to go to a school out side of NY City and attend a 4 year college in a SUNY collge? Deep down I really don't want to have to go out of the city to complete my upper division can anyone recommend a better option which I haven't thought of please, thank-you.
