Deep water aerobics? how did you like it? Does it seem to give you a good work out?
Is is ok to do regular water aerobics when pregnant and not prenatal water aerobics? I am 6 weeks pregnant and I want to know if it is safe to do the regular and deep water auqaerobics instead of the prenatal water aerobics? I did both classes and I get a much better workout in the regular class. Is this too much? Should I stick with just the prenatal classes?
Are water aerobics really good for you? I am thinking of taking some aquafit and deep water aquafit classes. Are they really hard? I am really out of shape and want to get in shape! If I join the YMCA I can try to take these classes at least 3 x a week. Do you think it might help me to lose some weight?
Has anyone ever had an ankle injury from water aerobics? Today in my water aerobics class we were "running" in the deep end, with floats around our waists to hold us up. I noticed that I was kind of flapping my feet more than running and tried to pay attention not to do that, but tonight my ankle is hurting, is it possible to get a sprain or strain in the pool and how do I know the difference? Thanks in advance!
Pregnancy and water aerobics? Hi, I'm 14 weeks pregnant and don't really exercise at all. I would like to join some kind of pregnancy fitness class, but none are offered where I live. What is offered is a water aerobics class in deep or shallow water. Has anyone done water aerobics while pregnant. What are your thoughts on it? Could you do this until right before giving birth? Thanks!
water aerobics? has anyone ever done water aerobics? What's it like? how deep is the water? I can't swim..lol, the deepest i can go is 4 ft. I could ask about this to the girl who teaches water aerobics at the gym but I'd like to know what ya'll think. Does it feel like an actual work-out? how do you feel afterwards? any info. would be great! thank you in advance
How do I care for my hair when I'm taking an indoor aquatics class? In a couple of weeks, I'll be taking a deep water aerobics class. I have long, heavy hair that is in pretty good shape now, but it will be exposed to pool chemicals. To top it off, I need to know how I can safely restrain it during my workout. I've got a lot of hair and it won't fit under a swim cap. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Is it okay to do South Beach First Phase while pregnant? I am obese bmi 36 and pregnant. I lost 40 pounds in 1 year doing the South Beach Low Carb 1st Phase. I am trying to decide what to eat while pregnant and if its okay to follow 1st phase South Beach no Carbs or sugars except fruit and veggies during pregnancy. I guess there is one way to find out. My first pregnancy I did not test positive for Gestational Diabetes and Heart Disease. My dad died at 45 of a Heart Attack. I was 32 and had a large baby. Now I am 39, about to turn 40, and high risk for Type II Diabetes. It is recommended I have a C Section if I cannot loose the weight. I suffer from hypertension disorders and gained 70lbs with my first pregnancy... YIKES! I have taken deep water aerobics for 6 months before conception. Supposedly, this will help me have a easier natural birth if I continue taking deep water aerobics through out the pregnancy and transfer to shallow water aerobics if the water belt won't fit. Thx.
Excercise Questions for Last Part of Pregnancy? I know ppl will tell me ask my Dr. and everybody is different...ok I know that. It is a weekend and I have an appointment at the end of the week anyway but I was wondering in the meantime...Is it still safe to excerxise in my 3rd trimester? I have done walking and yoga throughout my pregnancy but as I get more tired I find it harder to motivate myself to get out there and do it! I was thinking about joining this fitness center they have aqua-aerobics, pilates & yoga there as well as other things but those 3 seem the safest to me. And would a deep water aerobics class be better or the easier than a shallow water class do you think? I'm just looking for some suggestions from women who have actually taken some of these and did it help you feel better? Also, postpartum when did you resume excercises?

What do you think of a beach for women only? Women are so fed up with the amorous advances of Italian men that the Italians have created a beach strictly for women with men, children, and loud music banned. It's known as "Pink Beach" and offers exercise classes, water aerobics, manicure and makeup tips and also restricts foods like deep fried squid and chips.
Anyone have a Good cardio plan? Anything I should add? subtract? I am just focusing on cardio for now and my diet. I am on a mission to have a defined stomach by Halloween. I am not overweight or out of shape so it shouldn't be too hard. I have read different sites and gathered my info for this month, to work up to September then October. This month working on cardio to try to remove the bit of cushion over the torso area. I am 5' and 105, I cut down my calorie intake to be between 800-1000. I make my meals ahead of time, so dairy, protein, grains and produce is involved in every days calorie intake. No salt is added to meals made. I do water aerobics thee to five days a week, deep and shallow. I power walk for one hour each day down a hill in my subdivision, out to the store and back. At my home, I have fit in 30 minutes doing stairs. Every other day or daily I jump on the Wii Fit and do 15-30 minutes of 'strength training' as well as their 'aerobics', mainly hula hoop and boxing. Occasionally I like to row at the gym, but may add that later.
My 10 year old wants to lose weight, Going through a tough time? My 10 year old son is very chubby on his stomach area and face. He Just sat me down and explained to me how he feels. He's worried because to get on the hockey team, you can't be over 100 pounds, Which is unfair. I've been making him swim, fixing him salads for dinner, skipping ice cream for dessert and having a mixed fruit bowl.He currently weighs 156 pounds. When he told me that you cant weigh over 100 lbs, i didn't believe him but he showed me the paper. The paper said: "ALL STUDENTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY SPORTS, CANNOT WEIGH OVER 100 lbs" in a deep bold print. Is there any good water aerobics that he can do? Please help. *Also, Don't you think it's unfair that children cant play a sport because of their size?*
what gives you better results.....? what gives you bigger results and a better workout in the water... -doing laps in an olymic pool? -going out in the deep end while the waves are on and just try to keep you head above water without going back to the shallow end? -or water aerobics? also if there is something better, please let me know :-] thanx
Would someone who is ednos/anorexic be okay as or make a decent physical trainer? I am ednos on the anorexic side and I exercise constantly and keep my health up by eating nutritious foods when I do eat and by taking vitamin suppliments, without them I would probably fall deep into anorexia. Anyway, I keep entertaining the idea of going through a physical trainer program and becoming a physical trainer, but I am a guy and don't have the muscle mass and bulk that you would expect a male physical trainer to have and to be honest I don't want to bulk up or put on muscle mass, but enjoy weightless exercise, cardio, and water aerobics. I am not shy about my condition, and could talk about it with and in front of others, if others also tend to be like me and need someone they can relate with for fitness. I just don't know if being slender and ednos/anorexic would prevent me from or make it hard to be a physical trainer (I mean would you want or use a physical trainer like that).

Southern Astrology Signs (may have posted this, my memory is kind of burned out after the Hippy days)? Southerners are pretty skeptical of horoscopes and the people that read them. If we are to ever fully understand all the star signs and the people they represent, we need symbols that all true Southerners understand: See the list below... WHAT'S YOUR SOUTHERN SIGN? OKRA (Dec 22 - Jan 20) Tough on the outside but tender on the inside. Okras have tremendous influence. Older Okras can look back over life and see the seeds of his influence everywhere. You can do something good each day if you try. CHITLIN (Jan 21 - Feb 19) Chitlins come from humble backgrounds. A Chitlin, however, will make something of himself if he is motivated and has lots of seasoning. In dealing with Chitlins, be careful, they may surprise you. They can erupt like Vesuvius. Chitlins are best with Catfish and Okra. BOLL WEEVIL (Feb 20 - March 20) You have an overwhelming curiosity. You're unsatisfied with the surface of things, and you feel the need to bore deep into the interior of everything. Needless to say, you are very intense and driven as if you had some inner hunger. You love to stay busy and tend to work too much. No one in their right mind is going to marry you, so don't worry about it. MOON PIE (March 21 - April 20) You're the type that spends a lot of time on the front porch. A cinch to recognize the physical appearance of Moon Pies. Big and round are the key words here. You should marry anybody who you can get remotely interested in the idea. It's not going to be easy. You always have a big smile and are happy. This might be the year to think about aerobics. Maybe not. POSSUM (April 21 - May 21) When confronted with life's difficulties, possums have a marked tendency to withdraw and develop a don't-bother-me-about-it attitude. Sometimes you become so withdrawn, people actually think you're dead. This strategy is probably not psychologically healthy but seems to work for you. You are a rare breed. Most folks love to watch you work and play. You are a night person and mind your own business. CRAWFISH (May 22 - June 21) Crawfish is a water sign. If you work in an office, you're hanging around the water cooler. Crawfish prefer the beach to the mountains, the pool to the golf course, and the bathtub to the living room. You tend not to be particularly attractive physically, but you have very, very good heads. COLLARDS (June 22 - July 23) Collards have a genius for communication. They love to get in the melting pot of life and share their essence with the essence of those around them. Collards make good social workers, psychologists, and baseball managers. As far as your personal life goes, Collards, should stay away from Crawfish. It just won't work. Avoid a big heartache. CATFISH (July 24 - Aug 23) Catfish are traditionalists in matters of the heart, although one's whiskers may cause problems for loved ones. You Catfish are never easy people to understand. You run fast. You work and play hard. Even though you prefer the muddy bottoms to the clear surface of life, you are liked by most. Above all else, Catfish should stay away from Moon Pies. GRITS (Aug 24 - Sept 23) Your highest aim is to be with others like yourself. You like to huddle together with a big crowd of other Grits. You love to travel though, so you should think about joining a club. Where do you like to go? Anywhere they have cheese, gravy, bacon, butter, or eggs and a good time. If you can go somewhere where they have all these things, that serves you well. You are pure in heart. BOILED PEANUTS (Sept 24 - Oct 23) You have a passionate desire to help your fellow man. Unfortunately, those who know you best, your friends and loved ones, may find that your personality is much too salty, and their criticism will affect you deeply because you are really much softer than you appear. You should go right ahead and marry anybody you want to because in a certain way, yours is a charmed life. On the road of life, you can be sure that people will always pull over and stop for you. BUTTER BEAN (Oct 24 - Nov 22) Always invite a Butter Bean to a party because Butter Beans get along well with everybody. You, as a Butter Bean, should be proud. You've grown on the vine of life, and you feel at home no matter what the setting. You can sit next to anybody. However, you, too, shouldn't have anything to do with Moon Pies. ARMADILLO (Nov 23 - Dec 21) You have a tendency to develop a tough exterior, but you are actually quite gentle and kind inside. A good evening for you? Old friends, a fire, some roots, fruit, worms, and insects. You are a throwback. You're not concerned with today's fashions and trends. You're not concerned with anything about today. You're almost prehistoric in your interests and behavior patterns. You probably want to marry another Armadillo, but a Possum is another somewhat kinky mating possibility.
OK you rednecks, what's your sign lol? What's Your "Southern" Sign? Some of us (especially Southerners) are pretty skeptical of horoscopes, and it has become obvious that what we need are "Southern" symbols: OKRA (Dec 22 - Jan 20) Although you appear crude, you are actually very slick on the inside. Why is this so freakin' hard!!? On February, I started a diet and exercise program. No red meat, no sweets, no deep fried stuff, and low fat dairy only. Ive also upped my veggie consumption (I love veggies anyway), and have been doing high impact aerobics 4 days a week. I feel better, but look the same. In fact, I have not lost 1 pound, and feel very...poofy and bloated!! I am drinking as much water as I can, so what gives? NOTE: I had a baby 10 months ago, and am 60# overweight. Me P: No, I really dont like soda. Why?
Rules for a happy life, do you agree............? They don’t say health is wealth just like that. If you’re among those who take their health for granted, it’s time you change your outlook. There are very few things in life that are as important as your health — so look after it well. Adopting good habits right now will make you thank yourself in the long run. And these rules will help you do just that... Exercise If you aren’t a gym person, there are plenty of exercises that you can do in the comfort of your own home. Try and get a couple of your friends together and workout in someone’s home a couple of times a week. Or join an aerobics or kick boxing class together. Having each other to motivate will be an added bonus. Another thing that you could do is go for walks. Walking for 30 minutes everyday has numerous benefits. Dance It’s okay if you have two left feet. It’s fine if you look funny when you attempt to dance. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. There are innumerable dance classes all over the city that offer to teach you different styles. Not only will you learn something, you’ll also stay fit. Meditate With the fast paced, stressful lives that most of us lead, it is important to slow down and give yourself some time everyday. Allow yourself at least 10 to 20 minutes to just sit and practice some deep breathing exercises. It’ll do you a whole lot of good. Soak in the sunlight Sunlight has numerous benefits. That doesn’t mean you spend hours under the sun without any protection. But a few minutes daily will help your body produce enough vitamin D that is so essential for good health. Sleep Cutting down on your sleep to get more work or chores done will eventually burn you out. On an average you need to get seven to eight hours of sleep every day. Make up for a late night by resting adequately on the weekend. Don’t go on binges Binge drinking is worse than being a regular drinker. Indulging yourself with huge amounts of alcohol after a long gap upsets and harms your body — skip it. The same goes with extreme diets. Eat healthy Do yourself a favour and cut out all the roadside and junk food from your life. It ain’t good for you and if you really can’t do without it, allow yourself to indulge on a rare occasion. Keep yourself hydrated with plenty of water throughout the day. Laugh Laughter has so many benefits. Watch funny movies, television shows, meet up with people who are positive and happy. Try to stay away from negativity.

How will their metabolism change during the summer when the deep water becomes anoxic? Some species of bacteria that live at the surface of sediment on the bottom of lakes are facultative anaerobes; that is, they are capable of either aerobic or anaerobic respiration. How will their metabolism change during the summer when the deep water becomes anoxic? If the bacteria continue to grow at the same rate, will glycolysis increase, decrease, or remain the same after the lake becomes anoxic? Explain why.
So MUCH Pressure and Pain!? I'm seven months...29 weeks to be exact and for about 2 weeks I have been experiencing very uncomfortable pressure and pain, and to be quite honest it’s scary! I was very active before the last two weeks with 2 times a week deep water aerobic workouts, walking, and climbing steps to keep in shape but NOW its unbearable for me to walk let alone stand for more than a minute and this is on a DAILY basis. I have discussed with my OB the recent sudden changes I have been experiencing but all she told me to do was stop working out at 32 weeks (because I’ve only gained 10lbs since pregnancy) and to drink more water…. But to me my symptoms seem more serious well at least they feel more serious than lack of fluids, I mean I’m talking like possibly pre-labor. I was advised by a friend that they could be Braxton Hicks Contractions but this feels less like my ligaments are stretching and more like my son is trying to my make an early break for the “real world”. This will be my first pregnancy and I’m not sure if I’m overreacting and this is normal but I would hate to overlook this and he could be very well on his way. So have any of you ladies been or going through this? I know he’s physically ok because he moves constantly but this is becoming a bit worrisome. Thanks!
Can someone proof-read this for me??? I won't catch them so would you please do it?I know it's boring. Sorry. If only 11% of make-up is tested, what makes people want to wear it? The answer is very simple; people have grown up in a community where it’s taught that you’re only pretty if you wear makeup. Mascara has been used by different cultures for millennia. In Ancient Egypt, sticks were usually made of ivory, bone, wood, hematite, glass, or bronze, and were not only used to mix the concoction, but to apply it, too. Even Kama Sutra, the ancient Indian treatise of love and sexual pleasure, had a recipe similar to the mascara 19th century women used. Mascara has been made if malachite, galena, copper, iron, manganese, and lead. Frankincense, resin, and mastic are said to be the precursor to waterproof mascara. Maybelline cake mascara was made in 1917 and was the first mascara for every day use. Today’s mascara is made of kohl and was originally referred to as mascaro, the hair dye. It was also made popular after World War I, only for eyelashes, of course. This project is very important because it shows exactly what is done to eyes without anyone knowing. Mascara is the independent variable in this project. Mascara is considered basic to any kind of cosmetic application. Women tend to overdo mascara mostly because the makeup industry says long, think lashes are most desired. There are two main types of mascara: waterproof and water-soluble, able to be dissolved in water. Black mascara is the most popular color, but some use brown if their hair color is a light color (i.e. blondes). There is also clear mascara, for those who find that all of the colors of mascara are too dark for the complexion. Clear mascara isn’t a waste of money either; it lifts your lashes and separates them. Some women acquire recurring conjunctivitis, an infection of the outer part of the eyeball, due to contagion of their eye cosmetic and applicators. Mascara is to be thrown out every three-six months. Adding water to mascara causes the preservatives to become reduced and lessen the protection against bacteria. Sharing mascara spreads germs and is the most common way to spread conjunctivitis. Using saliva to moisten mascara can get the bacteria from your mouth in to you mascara tube. Some mascara includes an ingredient that breaks down to produce formaldehyde. Formaldehyde averts bacteria. The general purpose of mascara is to accentuate, thickened, lengthen, and distinguish. Mascara is made of water, wax thickeners, film-formers, and preservatives. Some brushes have rayon and nylon to lengthen eyelashes. Mascara brushes can be straight or curved to curl lashes. Bacteria are the dependent variable in this project. Bacteria are microscopic organisms whose single cells don’t have a membrane-bounded nucleus or other membrane-bounded organelles like mitochondria. Bacteria belong to a group all by themselves. Bacteria are in the kingdom Monera. Bacteria can cause many different diseases: tetanus, pneumonia, syphilis, and tuberculosis. They are commonly found in large groups since they multiply so quickly. A bacterium grows slightly in size or length. Then a cell wall grows through the center if the bacterium creating to cell. One of the reasons the world isn’t covered with bacteria is that conditions are barely ever optimum. Bacteria are not always bad. There are bacteria in our stomachs that help digest food. Some bacteria can do photosynthesis. They have chloroplasts but chlorophyll and other needed chemicals are added in to their cell membranes, they are called Cyanobacteria. Some kinds of bacteria need and do best with oxygen; others are killed by it. Heterotrophic bacteria absorb dead organic material. There many different types of bacteria here are just a few: bacilli, rod-shaped bacteria, cocci, round shaped bacteria, spirilli, spiral shaped bacteria, aerobic, bacteria that needs oxygen, anaerobic, needs no oxygen. Bacteria have recently been found in the ocean. They live so deep that they live in total darkness near thermal vents. Bacteria are everywhere, some good, and some bad. Bacteria are living things, and living things grow. They can multiply in just twenty minutes, each bacterium creating another. How do people know makeup is safe? They don’t. It’s safe until it is used. This is why this project is important.
How long, roughly, does it take to get fit? I know this sounds like a very vague question, along the lines of 'how long does sit take to get a six-pack', but please read a little further. I have just given up smoking and hopefully join the Royal Navy as a diver in the summer. Divers have to be very fit, so I have started running, circuit training and swimming alternately every other day. I have about five to six months to get fit- very fit. Is this enough time, in broad terms, or does it literally take years to get fit? The main focus is on aerobic endurance when a diver; lots of running carrying weight (your air tanks), 'running' through deep beach mud and lots of swimming in cold water. Do you think I have enuogh time to get in good enough shape, providing of course my will power is also up to the task? Thanks.
I have a few questions and don't want to be penalized by losing a bunch of points, so here goes...? Answer as many of them as you wish... 1. If the whole idea behind Yahoo! Answers is to stimulate dialogue back and forth, why in the world would they take away 5 points for asking a question? How does that make any sense? 2. Anyone ever sign up to be a "secret shopper" for those companies that supposedly pay you to shop? Are they legit? 3. Exercise question... My aerobic routine consists of walking laps in a swimming pool. The pool is 60 feet long, 3 feet deep at the ends and 4 feet deep in the middle. I walk at a brisk pace, back and forth, using the water as resistance, for 30 minutes. Is this as good or better than regular jogging or a treadmill? 4. Anyone know a good internet source for western style shirts with the pearl snap buttons, like the kind that country-western dancers might wear? My dorky brother loves those things and I want to get him one for Christmas. 5. Do you think the "mullet" hairstyle will ever come back into fashion? lol Sierra - thanks for making me laugh, that was funny! But - it really is for my brother. I don't laugh at him to his face though, because he has a 6th degree black belt in Aikido! Sparks... your answer to number 3? Yeah, me too! <wink> Bloodhound, if my questions were so lame, what does that make you for taking the time to respond? Dipsh**.
Biology check, can you help? I just need someone to verify this piece i'm writing about. I'm revising. But thanks. Aerobic respiration: Glucose + oxygen = carbon dioxide + water + Energy Anaerobic respiration: Glucose = Lactic acid + energy. The '=' means because of a long process involved? Aerobic respiration starts off in the mitochondria in the cell. Where Anaerobic starts off in the cytoplasm in a cell. Where the mitochondria is what we refer to as the 'power supply' to a cell, i need the reason for this? and also has two membranes? Anyway the chloroplasts. These are made up of two membranes which form the surface area. In deeper of this organelle, there are other membranes inside; Coiled/disc shaped stacked together like coins. Which is the chlorophyll - And without this, the process of photosynthesis will not work. But also it's there to absorb the light energy so it can be readily available to the cell, or reduce the carbon dioxide, or convert to carbohydrates. And the central cell vacuole; Which is a large and permanent charaterstic of a plant cell, but animals also get this, but only temp. The main functions of an organelle is; Water storage, waste disposal, and some form of structure due to some pressure. The vacuole is enclosed within the cytoplasm by a membrane known as tonoplast. It is a very important membrane due to the water and osmatic balance in cells, and the whole plant itself. Question of the main; Will these type of answers be required for an A- level AS exam? Thanks!!
