What do I do about my neck and shoulder pain as a result of a car accident? Almost 2 years ago I had a car accident which caused pain in my neck. I went to my doctor and she told me I had a microscopic muscle spasm and she gave me anti-inflammitory medication and gave me a shot in the neck. To make a long story short I did not go back to that doctor and switched physicians...eventually this pain turned into more of a dull nagging pain that settled into my left shoulder. It was tolerable up until about a month ago when out of no where it started hurting really badly, the pain is beside of my collar bone at my shoulder it is sharp pain that radiates out sometimes it feels like it goes up my neck. I also started feeling slight numbness in my arm. I went to another doctor who sent me to get X-rays they are clear. I am concerned it is a pinched nerve and conveyed that to my doctor but he seems to think that is not the case. The next step is physical therapy but I am concerned that I should get an MRI first. The doctor has said he cannot find what is wrong.

Anyone with neck pain out there that can help? I woke up one morning a few weeks back with terrible neck pain. I figured I slept wrong. Well, it really hasn't gone away. I've been taking Ibuprofen(like 1600 mg/day), tried a muscle relaxer, doesn't really seem to work. Went to my doc, he said if pain doesn't go away, I might need an MRI to see what's up. Pain starts in my neck. It'll go into the backs of my shoulders. And go up into the back of my head. Almost like there's a pressure. And when I do little neck circles, it feels almost like a grinding sensation. I had some tingling and weakness in my arms too. The tingling and weakness has gotten better. For those with neck problems, anyone had similar symptoms? And I've been dizzy too. Just kinda off-- like I've had a few beers. Can neck issues/pain cause dizziness? My doc says it may be a pinched nerve. Anyone with pinched nerve problems out there? What can you do for that? And if it's a disc problem, what's the solution for that?

I've kept migraine/pain diaries to see if there is any type of pattern but nothing has helped. I'm sick of having my xrays and MRIs come back negative and I'm tired of my chiropractors saying there is nothing more they can do for me. Even my regular doctor is running out of ideas. Now I'm realizing that I have a small bump on the side of my neck that I think could be a cause of it all. Does anyone know what this is and how I can treat it? Anything would be great!

could low back pain cause pain in the neck? i also have arthritis in my shoulders, would this be a reason for the neck pain?

Can neck pain cause alot of problems? My neck really hurts. I also have a headache and feel nausaus. ( I know I spelled that wrong.) Can these be caused by the neck pain?

What caused this severe neck pain? My wife last night cracked her neck and as soon as she cracked it she complained that she had a severe pain in her neck, It still hurts and she can hardly move it. Could it be a pinched nerve or something?

Can GERD cause neck pain and give you hiccups all the time? I was diagnosed with it a few months ago but i'm not sure if i've still got it, i keep getting this constant ache in my upper left chest right on the part where it joins my neck, i also get lower throat pain and neck stiffness caused by the ache, also i get earaches and pains in my lower left chest and in the right side of my chest on and off. I'm also still getting this weird taste in my mouth and i get hiccups all the time like after i've ate or drank and just randomly sometimes, i also feel sick during a meal and after. Do i still have GERD? I also have mild Gastritis too. I'm confused. I'm 18. xo

Is there any solution for neck pain caused by sitting in front of a computer?

so i hav congested sinuses, fevers that come and go, and very swollen glands that cause neck pain-(read below) i cudnt see a doc 2day cuz they were really busy- is it most likely just a virus, or an actually sinus infection type thing? any ideas anyone? im just curious, might have to go to the doctors 2morrow after all....

What is causing my neck pain? I started having pain at the base of my neck in the back, where my spine & neck meet yesterday. Its worse today, it hurts to turn my neck. I have been taking ibuprofen, but I feel horrible. My only other symptoms are stuffy nose & sore throat. Do you think I have pulled a muscle or should I see a doctor?

Can wisdom teeth cause neck and throat pain? For about 3 weeks I've had throat pain and neck tenderness. About 1 week ago I noticed the area in back of my mouth where wisdoms would grow became sore. I am 21 and have yet to get my wisdom teeth removed but will need to eventually. Are the two related? Could it be some kind of infection? Recommendations?

Can bad posture cause neck pain? i've always had bad posture, and my neck starts hurting when i'm on the computer. Note: i'm leaned over a good bit cuz the keyboard is a ways away. so, not helping the already bad posture. Might have pulled something. I dunno....
