Balance Physical Therapy

What would be the best way to raise funds for physiotherapy for a friend?

A very good friend and work colleague's wife Joan has been sent home from hospital and is undergoing physiotherapy but their funds will only last a few weeks. What/how would be the best way to raise funds for the remaining of the treatment?

  1. working the corner jk jk jk jk jokin ok i think if u did a raffel for a blanket or somthing that would work well and wen ur selling the tickets explain the story
  2. try looking for organizations that do this sort of thing. this is very admirable
  3. maybe do a fundraiser in their local pub were people might no them and wont mind handing over a few pounds.
  4. Ask for the entire amount from one individual who can afford to help you. Here is how you do it. Brainstorm who you know and who she knows in the community who has plenty of money. Include on your list any local business owner, entertainer or celebrity with a connection to the same illness or injury. Include anyone who has been in the paper or on TV for giving a large donation to anyone for any reason. Next, use your social network and weak (friend of a friend) connections to directly ask your donor list for help. When you get the donors on the telephone, explain quickly (15 seconds) who you are and what you want, then see if you can setup an appointment to ask directly for financial help. Know how much you need and ask each person for that full amount. Use the same pitch when you talk to receptionists and when you leave voice mail messages. Call at least 100 people. Start with the ones who can best afford to help you. YOU do not collect any money. Your friend doesn't collect any money. You want your donors to share their money in a safe way. I suggest you get an account number or some other way for your donor to pay the therapist directly. Of course, you'll have this setup in advance with the head of the therapy company. Why might this work? Raffles and bake sales are great, but won't usually raise much money. A couple hundred to $1,000 would be wonderful with lots and lots of work. On the other hand, one wealthy individual who is looking to help might donate $5,000 or $15,000 or $50,000 without blinking an eye.
