I found out tonight after xray physiotherapy an doctor that i have Kneecap displcement how do they treat this?

I just found out tonight after x rays, physiotherapy,doctor and a specialist that i have "Kneecap Displacement" how do they treat this? By using surgery, a brace... etc any information would be wonderful.

1. they will most likely use surgery to put the kneecap back where it belongs. You may have to wear a brace and stay off your legs for a few weeks after.
2. i have chondromalacia which is sorta like that but my kneecap is tilted a bit. my doc told me to take ibuprofin wen it hurts and wear a patella stabilizer brace wen exercising and use insoles in my shoes. so far it has helped a little bit but it will never get all healed unless i have surgery. look at this page. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/knee-pain/DS00555/DSECTION=causes . hope i could help!
